Im Jahre 2024 schloss Fenja ihr Abitur am Hölderlin Gymnasium in Nürtingen ab. Seit September 2025 ist sie bei der Volkshochschule in Stuttgart tätig und macht dort ein Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr im Bereich Kultur und Kreativität. Das Freiwilligenjahr beschäftigt sich hauptsächlich im Bereich Veranstaltungsorganisation. Neben dem Internationalen Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival ist Fenja für Veranstaltungs- und Kursangebot im Bereich Kultur und Kreativität, vor allem für junge Leute, zuständig.

Fenja graduated from Hölderlin Gymnasium in Nürtingen in 2024. 2020 schloss Elly Walch am Institut für Kulturmanagement der PH Ludwigsburg ihr Master-Studium in „Kulturwissenschaft und Kulturmanagement“ ab. Zuvor studierte sie an der Universität Passau im Bachelor „Kulturwirtschaft/ International Cultural and Business Studies“. Seit 2020 ist Elly Walch an der volkshochschule stuttgart tätig, seit 2021 als Leiterin des Fachbereichs Tanz. Neben dem Internationalen Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival sowie dem Veranstaltungs- und Kursangebot im Bereich Tanz ist Elly Walch für die Fachbereiche Theater und Bildende Kunst zuständig.

Elly Walch

In 2020, Elly Walch graduated from the Institute for Cultural Management at the PH Ludwigsburg with a Master’s degree in „Cultural Studies and Cultural Management“. She received her bachelor’s degree in „International Cultural and Business Studies“ from the University of Passau. Since 2020, Elly Walch has been working at the volkshochschule stuttgart, since 2021 as head of the dance department. In addition to the International Solo Dance Theater Festival and the cultural events and classes in the field of dance, Elly Walch is also in charge of the departments of theater and visual arts.

Nach ihrem Studium „Öffentliche Kulturarbeit und Kulturmanagement“ an der PH Ludwigsburg arbeitete Birgit Brinkmann im Kulturamt der Stadt Stuttgart in verschiedenen Bereichen der Kulturförderung. 2001 wechselte sie ins Kulturmanagement in das Veranstaltungszentrum TREFPPUNKT Rotebühlplatz. Seit 2006 ist sie an der vhs stuttgart neben dem Internationalen Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival Stuttgart und weiteren Großprojekten im Veranstaltungs- und Kursangebot im Fachbereich Tanz tätig.

Birgit Brinkmann studied „Public cultural work and cultural management“ at the PH Ludwigsburg and worked in various areas of cultural promotion at the Cultural Departement of the City Stuttgart. From 2001, she worked in cultural management at the event center TREFFPUNKT Rotebühlplatz and since 2006 she has been responsible for the International Solo Dance Theater Festival and many other major projects in the dance department at the volkshochschule stuttgart.

The evening before the competition belongs to Stuttgart’s independent dance scene. Choreographers from Stuttgart and the surrounding region present their contemporary solo pieces. The performances follow the format of the preliminary rounds of the International Solo-Dance-Theater Festival Stuttgart. Stuttgart Solo Choreo highlights the strength and diversity of the Stuttgart scene. The dance productions are performed outside of the competition and will not be awarded. In cooperation with the Produktionszentrum Tanz und Performance e.V.

1° INTERNATIONAL SOLO DANCE COMPETITION ITALY ROMA – EDITION 2021

Solo Choreographic Competition for authors and performers

The first edition of the “Solo” choreographic competition for dance authors and performers INTERNATIONAL SOLO DANCE COMPETITION ITALY ROME, will take place on 25 July 2021 in Rome.The International Solo dance competition is an event made possible by synergies and international collaborations with the goal of ensuring candidates specific visibility and a direct relationship with the directors attending as guest judges of the competition.The predominant aspect of these collaborations will be represented by the artistic partnership exclusively for Italy with the Internationales Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival in Stuttgart directed by Marcelo Santos.A series of professional opportunities will be proposed and communicated directly during the competition to candidates with the overall best artistic profile regardless of the final ranking.A parallel side of the competition will analyze the winning “creation” with a consequent professional proposal for the author.

”The Daf dance Arts Faculty is an International project created in Italy and operational for 13 years that has redefined the standards for the preparation of a dancer and the future artist.  An international network with exclusive collaborations with artists, choreographers, dancers and directors for the creation of a multifunctional network for the development and education of the young dancer.  A professional training program made through an integrated work system that includes both the study of the repertoire of the various invited choreographers as well as original choreographic creations made monthly specifically for the students of the international project.
DAF, through a specific department dedicated to foreign relations, has established a series of relationships with some of the most important European theaters, in order to be able to offer a direct channel for their dancers .

Die Ausstellung Mauro Astolfi: The seductive oppositions in der vhs Kunstgalerie präsentiert Fotografien von Cristiano Castaldi. Seit 1986 arbeitet der Tanzfotograf mit verschiedenen italienischen und internationalen Choreograf/innen und Tänzer/innen zusammen und widmet sich in diesem Projekt den Choreografien von Mauro Astolfi. In 25 großformatigen Bildern hält Castaldi die dynamischen Bewegungen fest und macht die Essenz des Tanzes erfahrbar: „Ich entdeckte Empfindungen, Gefühle und Verführungen: Ich ging ihnen nach, verzerrte das perfekte Bild und verkehrte es ins Grotseke. Plötzlich und mit großem Enthusiasmus näherte ich mich dem Wesen seines Werks: Die Bilder dieser Ausstellung sind das Ergebnis.”

Cristiano Castaldi ist seit 1985 auf den Tanzbereich spezialisiert: In seinem Archiv befinden sich einige der größten Namen der internationalen Tanzszene, wie Fabrizio Monteverde, Lindsay Kemp oder Mauro Bigonzetti. Seine Fotos wurden in den wichtigsten italienischen und internationalen Magazinen veröffentlicht. Seit 1989 nimmt er an privaten und öffentlichen Ausstellungen teil und ist Hauptfotograf der renommiertesten nationalen Tanzwettbewerbe und -festivals, wie Premio Roma oder Rieti Danza Festival.

We would like to thank all the choreographers and dancers who applied for the International Solo Dance Theatre Festival 2023. Over 230 artists from 44 nations sent applications.

This is amazing! But we are also amazed by so many wonderful artistic and contemporary concepts dealing with current, relevant topics – all worthy to present. You can imagine how this made curating for us a quite challenging task as we can only choose 18 pieces for the festival.

We wish all international solo dance artists to keep up their good work and their love of dance: Stay inspired!

Zu Gast: Preisträger/-innen des Internationalen Solo-Tanz- Theater Festival Stuttgart

Der krönende Abschluss der diesjährigen Tanztage22 trägt den Titel Herbst und findet am Samstag, 15. Oktober, um 20 Uhr im Kulturzentrum neun statt. Zu Gast an diesem Abend: die Preisträger/-innen des Internationalen Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival Stuttgart.

Bereits seit 26 Jahren stellen sich junge Tänzer/-innen und Choreografen/-innen im Rahmen des Stuttgarter Wettbewerbs einer internationalen hochkarätigen Jury des zeitgenössischen Tanzes. „Der gute Ruf des Festivals hat sich längst weltweit herum-gesprochen (…), bei über 210 Bewerbungen ist es natürlich sehr schwer zu entscheiden, welche 18 letztlich am Wettbewerb teil-nehmen“, sagt der künstlerische Leiter und Gründer, Marcelo Santos. Nun kommen Preisträger/-innen aus verschiedenen Jahren für eine Veranstaltung der besonderen Art nach Ingolstadt und sorgen durch das hohe tänzerische und künstlerische Niveau für einen Kunstgenuss.

Alle Tänzer/-innen bringen ihren jeweils ganz eigenen tänzerischen Ausdruck mit und so sind auch die aufgegriffenen Themen und Tendenzen von einer unglaublichen Vielfalt.

Gefördert werden die Tanztage22 durch den Bezirk Oberbayern und den Bayerischen Landesverband für den Zeitgenössischen Tanz.
