Throughout its history, VIVADANÇA International Festival has established a connection with dance artists from all continents. In the last 15 years, the festival – organized from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil – has promoted the performance of 248 different dance pieces, making it an important player in connecting Bahia to other parts of the world. Last year, VIVADANÇA consolidated a new part of its program, called “Conexão África” (African connection), in order to further deepen the link with African artists and enable a greater contact with them by Brazilian producers and Brazilian audience. In this 15th edition, which debuts on International Dance Day (April 29) and runs until May 8, the festival welcomes representatives from 17 countries, including Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Guinea, Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Togo, Zimbabwe, Argentina, Guadeloupe Island, Peru, Spain, France and Portugal.
